Abstract

We consider conformal reprojections of geographic information system data with complex polynomials as compared to reprojections with commercial software packages. We show that in regular cases low-degree complex polynomials can be effectively used instead of sophisticated software packages. In less regular cases the ambiguities arising from other sources make the application of standard transforms problematic.
