Acta Historica Tallinnensia is an international history journal of the Estonian Academy of Sciences published in collaboration with Tallinn University.
The first issue of Acta Historica Tallinnensia was published in 1997.
The journal is devoted to the history of the Baltic Sea region and of the Baltic States. We welcome papers dealing with any aspects of history from medieval to contemporary period.
The submitted papers should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission. All paper submissions, accepted by the editorial board, will be refereed in a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.
The journal publishes research papers and review essays in English and in Estonian. All articles are provided with short summaries: if the article is written in Estonian, the summary should be in English, and vice versa.
In the Estonian Research Information System administered by the Estonian Research Council, Acta Historica Tallinnensia is classified under category 1.1.
The journal provides open access to all of its content. From January 2022, by submitting manuscripts to the Acta Historica Tallinnensia, the authors agree that the article, if accepted and published, will become licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
The journal is published biannually. Articles are published online on an ongoing bases.
