The collection „Eesti Vabariigi preemiad“ (Estonian National Awards) is available in Estonian. The book on laureates of national awards of Estonia includes the achievements of the laureates of research, culture, sports and education awards and the F. J. Wiedemann language award. The national educational awards are granted for the year previous to the publication of the book.

Development of the collection

Between 1997 and 2014, the publication of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, „Eesti Vabariigi teaduspreemiad“ (Estonian National Science Awards), gathered annual articles about the laureates of the research awards. From 2015 to 2024, the articles on research awards appeared in the renamed publication „Eesti Vabariigi preemiad“, which was supplemented at first with articles on the F. J. Wiedemann Language Award, as well as sports and culture awards, and from 2020 also with articles on education awards. Since 2020, the publication has been issued both in print and online.

Starting from 2025, „Eesti Vabariigi preemiad“ will appear as both a print and online publication, containing short texts about the science, F. J. Wiedemann language, sports, culture, and education awards. In addition, a supplementary online publication „Eesti Vabariigi teaduspreemiad“ will be issued, bringing together articles about the laureates of the research awards.

A digital object identifiers (DOIs) are given for articles of the national research award laureates since 2022.

From 2024 all articles published in collection are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
